Questions?????

So by wearing a hoodie…I look suspicious? If I start to walk a little faster, and maybe run…I look suspicious? I’m the aggressor, because of the color of my skin? I look like I’m on drugs and maybe drunk, because of the attire I wear? Because I’m not a familiar face in a neighborhood, I should be pursued and harrassed? I ask these questions because of the death of Trayvon Martin….they may appear simple, yet they are deep in their own way. I will never understand, how and why Mr Zimmerman, felt he was compelled to shoot this young boy off suspicion. Trayvon didn’t have a weapon, and yelled help numerous times when confronted. Somehow though, Mr Zimmerman felt he acted in self defense. How? And at what point was he defending himself from a 17 year old, unarmed child? Was Zimmerman over zealous? Why did he go against the 911 dispatcher’s request, and still pursue Trayvon? ……..Or for that matter, why does Troy Davis get convicted and executed for allegedly killing a white off duty officer…yet there is no question as to who shot Trayvon, and he has not been charged…Why is Sean Bell dead? An officer THOUGHT he HEARD somebody say that they had a gun…yet they were all unarmed. And Sean is dead, and those officers are free….Emmett Till….brutally murdered for “flirting” with a white woman….his killers…freed. Oh, but they did confess to killing this child, but do to the double jeopardy law, there was nothing that could be done. Since they confessed after being found not guilty. So many unanswered questions….It’s beyond time to fight for justice. Believe it or not, racism still exists today and it is REAL!

Why though?

Social networks have become so callus these days…..I understand that they can serve as an outlet for some….and that’s fine. But don’t go on here telling all of your business.Don’t you realize how silly you look? People are commenting and “liking” your status…all the while laughing behind your back. Half of those people don’t really care about you or what you’re going through. But they enjoy the entertainment that you are providing, which is your LIFE. Why let people see so much of your life? Your struggle? When you’re down? People live to see another person fail. Especially when they are so unhappy with their own life….Then you have the former friends and their issues. The subliminals…the personal secrets now aired for everyone to see….Why though? What do you gain from this? Age is truly not the test of maturity. But the wisdom we’ve gained in our years on this earth, shows it. Please remember that your business is  your business.Don’t put it on these networks for the world to see, and then they judge. Use it be beneficial, uplifting…crack a joke every now and again. Hey, that’s what I do…

Trayvon Martin

I had the privilege to be apart of history yesterday! The fight for justice is so phenomenal, that it brings you to tears. This young child was gunned down by a grown man, because he “looked” suspicious, and posed a threat to the man. This situation sparks so many emotions on so many levels. Everyone wants to pull the race card, which definitely played a part in things…but we need to look at each other as a whole!….do you know when the next pair of Jordans come out? I don’t! But as it turns out, this is a very important date for some people. In fact, people have lost their life or gotten injured,in a race to obtain these sneakers.YET, you want other races to view the African American community as equals.NO one race is superior to any other. But with behavior like this, how can we prosper? How can we begin to say that we have changed and want change, yet we’re killing each other, OVER SHOES? I really am glad to see people come together to fight for justice in the defense of Trayvon Martin, but we need to work on improving ourselves as well. We always want to come together when another race attacks us, but we’re still killing one another senselessly…I am deeply saddened by this tragic event that has struck a nerve all over the nation.I can only pray that this serves as an eye opener for every race and creed, that a change needs to be made. And don’t just talk about it, be about it! Be proactive, know your facts and history. And do not, for one second, back down on what you believe…….

My thoughts..

I believe everything happens for a reason. The ladies night we experienced has managed to touch everyone. Some may not be happy about the changes that will be made, but in order to progress, changes have to occur. It’s perfectly okay to lose people in the process. It only shows their true colors and intentions. People who thrive on drama and negativity only want to reel you into that debauched mindset. Be above it, and surpass the odds. Surround yourself with those who can uplift you and support your goals to prosper in this life. And always keep God first in all endeavors
